Green Phase at Bethany

Government and CDC guidelines permit churches to gather at 75% capacity.

*Since we will likely not hit the maximum capacity in any one service at this time, it is no longer necessary to contact Pastor Kevin to let him know what service you will be attending.

We continue to comply with the recommended guidelines for churches. The following standards will need to be followed in order to provide a safe environment for all.

  • If you are ill or have symptoms of being ill, please stay home and attend the online service.
  • If your child/children or anyone in your household are ill or have symptoms of being ill, please stay home and attend the online service.

Because of social distancing requirements

  • There are no Sunday Life Groups
  • There is no Nursery care or JAM (children’s church)
  • Please feel free to bring your child’s tablet and headphones or other materials.

Greeters will be at the doors to welcome and to provide direction.

  • Greeters will not shake hands.

Giving envelopes, salmon debit authorizations and bulletins will be available at the welcome table arranged for safe distribution.

As basket with pencils is also on the welcome table. These are to be returned at the end of the service.

  • A new basket of pencils is provided for each service.

All seating is socially distanced – 6 feet between family groups.

  • All seats are marked off
  • Please sit where there are no markers.

There is no greeting time during the worship services.

All songs including hymns will be projected on the screen.

All Scriptures will be projected on the screen.

  • If you wish to have a Bible, please bring one.

Contact surfaces are sanitized between services

The sanctuary and main bathrooms are open.

  • Please remain in these areas only.
  • Please exercise social distancing when using a restroom.
  • There will be no snacks or seating in the café
  • The water fountain is not available

In addition, the following directive is from the CDC concerning the use of cloth face coverings for faith organizations:

Encourage use of cloth face coverings among staff and congregants. Face coverings are most essential when social distancing is difficult. Note: Cloth face coverings should not be placed on children younger than 2 years old, anyone who has trouble breathing or is unconscious, and anyone who is incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the cloth face covering without assistance. Cloth face coverings are meant to protect other people in case the wearer is unknowingly infected but does not have symptoms.” (CDC – May 23, 2020)

The following directives are the latest guidance for churches in the Green Phase in PA:

Churches, synagogues, temples, mosques and other places of congregate worship are specifically excluded from the limitations established by the order. These institutions are strongly encouraged to enforce social distancing and other mitigation measures such as masking at their gatherings.

Visitation to prisons and hospitals may resume subject to the discretion of the facility. Visitors who interact with residents and patients must be diligent regarding hygiene. Given the critical importance of limiting COVID-19 exposure in nursing homes, nursing home visitation restrictions will initially remain in place.

Under the current mandatory mask order, that is now in effect in PA, anyone over the age of 2, must wear a face mask, unless exempt based upon CDC approved exemptions.  This applies to all situations where social distancing may be compromised, such as when entering the building, anytime one is moving throughout the building, using the restrooms etc.

Philippians 2:3, “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves.” NASB
